Job And Money
by Arbait Beschaftigung

A job can be described as "a public transaction done for
private profit; something performed ostensibly as a part of
official duty, but really for private gain; a corrupt
official business". To be frank, a job is what one does for
about 40 hours each week in order to bring home money. One
trades time and effort for a paycheck. Jobs don't always
pay for one's time in a monetary fashion. Some jobs are
done for the pure reward of selflessly giving of time to
better another's life.; to put a smile on someone's face.

Jobs have been around since mankind. Though it has to be
kept in mind that work compensation was not always in
monetary form in ancient times. Chicken farmer, for
instance, requiring wood would trade eggs for the lumber.
Interestingly, Jesus was a carpenter as far as his
profession was concerned.

Job switchovers and job satisfaction was not always
possible in ancient times. In a recent study, humorous and
unflattering jobs of the ancient times have been compiled.
Middle Ages had seeking the dead as one of the profession.
Other profession included eating toads and the like.
Dissatisfied workers could not easily change their jobs at
that time lest they incurred the wrath of their masters.

Today, we have millions of jobs to choose from. Some
professions like painting and music, which were till
recently considered hobbies only, have become very
professional and rewarding in terms of money and acclaim.
Not to mention the prestigous jobs in the military and
civil sectors, succtors, such as secretaries, firefighters
and preachers.

Each job has some special eligibility requirements. From
the President to the peon, one has to fulfill conditions of
eligibility for the job. In this way, the Pope, the Queen
of England and even Santa Clause has jobs.

Jobs do not necessarily define the ability of a person.
Some people work in positions not commiserated with their
capabilities and qualifications. One reason could be that
they are satisfied with what they are getting and are not
desirous of pushing themselves too far. Some perform more
than one job to maintain a particular family lifestyle.

Whether she is a secretary, an art professor, a musician,
a shoe polisher, a steam cleaner, a teacher or a policeman
isn't the issue. To be truly happy and content is something
that is a longing each and every person desires. Find your
niche and don't worry about what others think or say. If
you are happy with your job, count your blessings....for
many never are!
