What do you rank as the most important job in your life?
Life is full of choices. Your decision to make the most out
of your employment is up to you. In many ways, your job is
a reflection on how you conduct yourself in life. If you
care about doing your personal best at work, odds are you
care how you conduct yourself in other areas in your life.
Career choices are a clear reflection of your interests,
aptitude and passions. Some people have innate abilities
that develop to grand proportions and contribute greatly to
society; others must dig deep to bring out their passions
and work hard to match their abilities with their desires.
Your priority is to discover what are your greatest
aptitudes and to match your passions with your abilities.
To some people this sounds like a "which came first, the
chicken or the egg?" scenario. However, when a good match
is found, you can tell that a career choice is right for
you.
Philosophizing about concentrating on making your passion
work may cause you to miss the mark. After all, not every
passion translates well into the working world or has a
market. The process of finding this right career choice is
harder for some people than others, especially someone who
has to struggle to bring home a paycheck and meet life's
basic necessities. Many times, patience helps these people
find the match that clicks for them. These hard workers
must bear in mind that no job is unimportant and every job
brings you closer to your career path. This positive
attitude helps during these types of journeys and often
makes the journey much easier.
Some careers don~t come with a paycheck. Jobs such as a
full-time at-home parent come with no monetary reward.
While many people consider this most important job in their
lives, this job pays off in helping develop a stable family
life and members of society who can contribute positively
once they venture on their own. In many ways, this line of
work is more of a passion than an aptitude and requires
continual education and much sacrifice.
No matter what aptitude or skill you are born with, everyone
has a job in life. As a precious human being not exactly
like anyone else, you should have the freedom to explore
what makes you shine. Some people prefer to be the big
shots while other wouldn~t touch that position with a
ten-foot pole. As long as the job fits you and your
circumstances, you have found the most important job at that
point in your life.
